A battler/hero is known as someone who fights for what they believe in, their country, their heritage, their family, friends, dignity and pride. A battlers job is to protect and hold onto what they ar fighting for, whether it is for the frank or for the bad. The Aussie Battler is known for being a working class citizen who commits thither flavour and soul into their work, land, culture and family. Many Australian films explore the concept of Overcoming Adversity and explore into the idea of the Aussie Battler/hero. Wonderful examples of films that directly learn into this idea of the Aussie Battler/hero, is Ned Kelly (2003) and The palace (1997). Ned Kelly is a film based in the 70s/80s more or less a group of young men, Ned Kelly (Heath Ledger), Joseph Byrne (Orlando Bloom), Dan Kelly (Laurence Kinlan) and Steve Hart (Philip Barantini), as well as known as the Kelly gang, fighting to preserve their heritage and remain true to their family. The handler of Ned Kelly Gregor Jordan has contri neverthelessed the idea of how overcoming adversity can be problematic and difficult, but can also form society. The Castle a film directed by Rob Sitch is about a man, Darryl Kerrigan (Michael Caton) facing the authority because he believes in fighting for his right to not lose everything he has worked for, for unnecessary government requests. The film industry determines the way people view films. Australian films often backup the idea of the Aussie Battler. An Aussie battler is referred to as someone who fights for what they believe in, their country their heritage, family, friends, dignity and pride. A battlers job is to protect and hold onto what they believe is worth fighting for, whether is is for good or bad. The Aussie battler is known to be a working class citizen who commits their sw eat, blood and time into their work, land, culture and family. Many Australian films explore into the concept of overcoming adversity, and depend deeply into the understanding the idea of the Aussie battler.Wonderful examples of films that directly look into this concept of the Aussie Battler is Ned Kelly (2003) and The Castle (1997). Ned Kelly is a Film based in 1880s about a group of men (Ned Kelly (Heath Ledger), Joseph Byrne (Orlando Bloom), Dan Kelly (Laurence Kinlan) and Steve Hart (Philip Barantini), also known as The Kelly Gang. The gangs objective is to fight, preserve their heritage and change how the authority treats the Irish. The director of Ned Kelly, Gregor Jordan has contributed the idea of how overcoming diversity can be problematic and difficult, but can also change societys views and ways. The Castle, a film directed by Rob Sitch, is about a man, Darryl Kerrigan (Michael Caton) facing the authority because he believes in fighting for his right to not lose somethi ng that is a big part of his emotional state and something he has worked for his whole life. The events that arise in both films revolving around the typesetters cases, reiterate this idea of Overcoming Adversity and the Aussie Battler/hero is emerged through a variety of techniques co-ordinated from their respective directors. In the first facial expression of Ned Kelly he is portrayed as a great contribution to society by saving his class lucifer life from drowning in a river. He received a green heros sash. An otherwise word-painting that also really shows Ned as a battler is where he is chasing one of the authorities through the bushes. Ned shoots the authority multiple times and once he finally stops Ned tells him he would not suck in shot if he hadnt kept running he also tried to stop him from bleeding but in the end couldnt and was force to put a bullet through his heart. A scene where Neds image is turned around is where he steals the horse and gets caught from the aut hority Ned loses it and threatens the authority which therefore lands him in jail and from this point on Ned falls into the role of The Aussie Battler.Ned Kelly belongs to an Irish heritage that immigrated to Australia for a better life, but not realizing what laid fore for them they were pushed crushed down in society and struggled to keep an income. The Kellys were given a piece of land by the selectors where they were allowed to grow their own crops, producing their own nutrient and founder animals for income. The authorities in Ned Kelly were self-centred and, self-indulged. The way the authority treated the Irish was different to how they treated their own. Thats where the Kelly Gang and the authority differed.Ned was pleasant to everyone he came across, he didnt chose to harm them, gave them respect and the rights they deserved wether they were his own people or not. The events that arise in both films revolving around the two main character Ned Kelly and Darryl Kerrigan, reiterate this idea of overcoming adversity and the Aussie battler is emerged through a variety of different techniques that have been incorporated by their respective directors. In a scene towards the start of the film that shows Ned as a battler is where he is hunting a officer through the bush lands because he ran.Ned finally guns down the policeman and finds the man lying on the ground in immense pain. Ned tells the policeman he would not have shot him if he had not run. This scene shows the battler side of Ned because further on in this scene Ned is forced to kill the policeman because there was nothing he could do to save him. The Castle is a classic Australian film the stereotypes the Aussie image but also conveys the nub that Australians are tough and fight for right. The Kerrigan family is an admirable representation of the average Australian family. They are tight-knit, willing to help and passionate about sticking together as a family. There is a scene that particularly shows off the characteristics of a battler/ fighter within the castle. This scene is were Darryl is at his court hearing. When the Jury goes on break, Darryl sends out his essence to his lawyer who then uses what he says in his debate. By Darryl really expression his true emotions, they win. Darryl Kerrigan resembles the typical Australian father. Although his family isnt well off and dont particularly live in a great spot (beside an airport), its home, it all comes from the heart. Darryl is a battler he supports everyones opinions but in the end makes his decisions based upon his beliefs. He doesnt particularly have a high status in society with him working as a tow truck driver but windlessness manages to stay positive because he doesnt care what people think of him, hes a proud Australian. He works and fights for the things he needs and can appeal to ones emotions. He uses his power to battle against the bad to win the good. The directors of both Ned Kelly and The Castle have in corporated a variety of different cinematic techniques that make both films unforgettable in their own manner. Techniques that come under the branch are Setting, Dialogue, and Costuming, Camera angles and movement and sound.Ned Kelly desires the affect for its audience to become entangled within the films story zephyr and to do this the film must include a range of different and somewhat unusual techniques to gather attention. The setting for Ned Kelly is rather stereotypical to the era the film is set in. Most scenes where the Kelly gang do major work is set on the authoritys side. This is the brighter, more classic, rich side, whereas most other scenes such(prenominal) as fighting and war is done in the bushlands, outback where the Kellys feel safe and indulged in their own culture. The lighting in Ned Kelly is very ofttimes so leaned to low key lighting. If you notice high key lighting comes into play when the Kellys are in the authoritys territory and low key lighting for the rest. The dialogue used in Ned Kelly is very traditional and formal. The authority take on a different role in there dialogue as they used different words, words that come off more offensive and cruel. Costuming is also another very outmoded label. The Kellys customarily wore old, scrawny, filthy unwashed clothes. They also were mostly seen in dark long pants and jackets, not a lot of skin was shown which contributed to the aspects of low key lighting. The unwanted side of people had scrawny hair, beards and were dressed in dirty clothing. Whereas the upper-class side were dressed in clean cut, brighter coloured clothing that resembled there say in society. In both Ned Kelly and the Castle similar camera angles and movements were used. High Angles where used to show power i. e. the authority standing over Ned making him look weaker and more vulnerable. Particularly towards the start of both films you notice low angles and high angles being used to show authority, but as the films p rogressed you start to notice the change in angles and where the cameras are positioned.Throughout both films you will notice an establishing shot being used at the start of most scenes followed by either a close up or mid shot, depending wether the scene was to include dialogue where then they would need a close up or just a mid-shot. There were many cuts during dialogue which also showed great importance in what the characters were saying. The castle resembled typical Australian dress standards for that time (Flannelettes, Jeans and bowl cuts). The Authority seemed to be dressed in smart clothing the reminded you of control and responsibility.Dialogue in The Castle was stereotypically an Australian accent. The slang, the way the words are slurred and how the pronunciations of words are carried out. The authority defiantly takes on another type of channel of communication, they talk more proper, formal and tend to shorten their words to sound like they arent slurring. The setting i n the castle is bright and cheerful. It creates a friendly environment that also shows a real Australian household. They do this by creating a rundown house, not much money and financial backing right next to an airport. The lighting the frames this film is high key.Even when darkness controls the time of the scene light still manages to be the key element to the shots. Both films show and encourage messages about Australia in two completely different but similar ways. Ned Kelly shows a message that stealing is wrong and fighting is not the answer, but fighting for what you believe in, fighting for the right to not let others contradict your life is ok. On the other hand the message about The Castle is exactly the same but carried out differently. The castle shows the fact that Australians are not very materialistic and in general are quite simplistic and positive. Both films also conveyed the message that family is important and supporting that idea of love and trust is what makes life worth living for. Ned Kelly chose reveal the idea of using violence, crime and death to portray its message, whereas The Castle did not. The Castle showed its message through family values, gratitude and reverence. Both of these films had the authority against them, they stuck together and became united as one. By the end of both films we were left with the feeling of knowing and understanding how both families fought together. If one was going down they were all going down. What was also so great about these two films is that we could watch them grow from battlers into heroes. Ultimately both films were devised to create a sense of understanding about the Australian culture. For certain message and concepts to be conveyed a range of different techniques had to be used, from characterization, to cinematography. The plots direction leaded to the audience grasping different emotions and challenged the audience to experience a film contrary most modern productions.

This spick-and-span tax reform is pass judgment to be implemented in January 2007, but the government has announced that in February 22, 2006, the implementation exit be postponed to a later date. In 2010, the government is before long completing the final phase of the implementation of the consumption tax, in particular, to detect the jolt of goods and services tax on society. Is the implementation of the consumption tax will witness, not only in the manufacturing industry and service industry will be affected, but also in otherwise areas, much(prenominal) as education, health, transportation, pecuniary services, agriculture, mining, oil, land, real estate and construction industry, telecommunications, electricity and water industry. It will replace the current sales and service tax. Consumption tax, also known as the value added tax (VAT), is a multi-phase of consumption tax. It is a broad-based consumption tax that covers all areas of the economy. All local production of goods and services imports will be taxed. Exceptions to this form of taxation are listed as zero for a specific commodity and service rated power supply, and dispense with the supply.1.1.1 Basic Concept of GSTConsu mption tax is the consumption of goods and services received at each stage of the supply chain of mountains. Although the consumption tax levied from the supplier until the supply chain of the retail stage, not the formation of a portion of the production cost of the GST applyment business input can be required to protect the back of the. Therefore, there is a certain number of products through the supply chain is irrelevant, because in the early stages of payment of business input tax can perpetually be canceled by the merchant in the supply chain.1.1.2 Types and rates of GSTThree categories of consumption tax will be used in Malaysia from 2015 to April 1st, the main battle between the rate and the method to deal with each tax. First of all, the standard level of supplies products and services, is charged with the standard rate. Business to charge a consumption tax, and pay to the government. They can submit an expense account provided by the credit to their tax input than the return of the tax. Second, the zero rate of supplies they bear a zero assessable goods and services. Enterprises can apply for income tax credit, they bring these supplies, it will be levied on the zero tax rate. Third, the privilege of supplies of non-taxable goods are eligible for tax deduction, which means they will not charge any taxes. Of course, the enterprise cant claim the input tax credit, when they put these materials. In addition, they are not eligible to receive the output tax for consumers2.0 Consequences of GSTGST is a broad-based tax. Therefore, it is generally considered a tax rebate. Now, return to the true meaning? In brief, a tax rebate is a burden to the poor, because it requires a relatively large proportion of the lower income. Most of the time, the foundation of a wide range of tax revenue is a serious concern to the indemnity makers. However, in spite of this, GST has been introduced in 160 countries in the world. These 160 countries, not all of them have experienced the consumption tax of the tired. Some developing countries, such as Vietnam, Ethiopia, and Pakistan, are facing a gradual GST, in no small part because these countries adopt the basic essentials, as thoroughly as the exemption of zero tax rate. As mentioned earlier, there is a concept of the GST is decreasing First impressions are strongest. This argument, however, does not take into account the fact that the basic essentials are not taxed in developing countries. When the element is taken into account, the value added tax can be naturally progressiveAnother problem with the idea of a decision maker and the public is that the consumption tax will be inflation. There have been important debates and literature on this issue. For example, Saeed A. Bashur (2008) emphasize the introduction of business and services tax does not necessarily lead to inflation. He informed that this is because the definition of inflation is repeatedly rising, the average price over time, does not mean onceand for all to raise prices. Mukhopadhyay Sukumar (2005) said the GST could not, itself cause the rate to continue to increase the price level. But, nonetheless, Marty Viren (2008) found that over half of the tax increase (GST in this case) transferred to the consumer price. In our in-depth occupy of this issue, we will look at the implementation of the GST/ value added tax and its relationship with the changes in the choice of the year before and after the annual inflation rate? For this purpose, we expanded Table 1.1 to include inflation rates in the respective countries.2.1 Expected Aggregate Consumption and Economic growth of MalaysiaThe implementation of the VAT tends to give public interest, sometimes becoming an important factor in the election. Many people believe that VAT would adversely affect the total consumption, and would undermine economic growth. In addition, the lower VAT rate is sometimes in a recession by stimulating economic growth, strengthening t he total consumption of the argument. Miki (2011) told reporters, declining economic expansion, although overall consumption and consumption tax implemented, also increased consumption and overall economic growth in the consumption tax increase before. This will offset the negative impact after filling. Other economists say the impact of the VAT rate is only temporary, so we should not be afraid of it.Logically, if there is a declared government will implement VAT, certainly people will buy that can be raised before the VAT rate of inventory items. Subsequently, after the implementation of VAT, the total consumption will fall, because people will use them before the stock to replace the VAT buy new items to purchase. In this case, economic growth will lessen. After this, the total consumption will gradually grow to their stock ran out, the need to purchase new items. Therefore, the impact of the VAT change is easy to understand the theory, but it is difficult to grasp the importanc e of this effect in practice. Needless to say, the total consumption and economic growth not only changes in the VAT rate to determine. Hamburg (1954) and Barro (1991) shows that the total consumption by income, wealth, interest rates, the age distribution of the population to determine.3.0 ConclusionWhat constitutes an ugly verity? The traditional definition of an ugly truth is a reality is a painful acceptance, but because it is called the true, it is necessary to accept it.. So what constitutes a beautiful lie? The traditional definition of a beautiful lie is what people really want that is true, but people know it is not. From the governments point of view, the government has been trying to deviate the public to replace the sales and service tax with GST will not lead to price increases, even though they know that this may not be the case. This will create an ex post behavior that people believe that the price of goods and services will not increase, causing inflation expectat ions to disappear. If there is slim or no increase in the consumption tax, it will be a beautiful lie.All in all, GST is the ugly truth in Malaysia or a beautiful lie? Our results refer to forward. GST in Malaysia is an ugly truth. Let us emphasize two points again. First, the government has always claimed that 6% of the consumption tax will replace 16% of sales and service tax. On paper, it sounds like a good. People will think that there is a tax cut of 10%. However, the fact is that there will be an increase of 2% from 4% to 6%. Secondly, the Chinese government has always insisted that the price of goods and services will not increase. People will still spend and the economy will grow to predict. However, our results show that prices will increase in the short and long term, the decline of precipitation in domestic consumption. Economic growth will be blocked.4.0 IntroductionIntroduction of goods and services tax (GST), the first is the 2005 budget, to replace the existing sales and service tax structure in Malaysia announced. This new tax reform is expected to be implemented in January 2007, but the government has announced that in February 22, 2006, the implementation will be postponed to a later date. In 2010, the government is currently completing the final phase of the implementation of the consumption tax, in particular, to identify the impact of goods and services tax on society. Is the implementation of the consumption tax will witness, not only in the manufacturing industry and service industry will be affected, but also in other areas, such as education, health, transportation, financial services, agriculture, mining, oil, land, real estate and construction industry, telecommunications, electricity and water industry. In addition, the consumption tax will also be levied on the export service / international service, government, charity, clubs, associations and trade unions. After the introduction of the first consumer tax, there is a conflict of opinion. However, the consumption tax will also provide more income, and strengthen our economic future. According to Malaysian research of economic research professor Datuk Mohamaarif Abdul Karim, who is has been the strongest supporters of the consumption tax in Malaysia implementation of, former executive director believes that the consumption tax is not only a need to raise more revenue for the government, but also to disperse source of income. This will require the issuance of business between the preparation and consumption tax will become a heavy burden on the general publics view. Its time is too long to discuss and review the benefits of new tax implementation and the most important issue is to businesses and the public, they prefer a win-win situation. Datuk Jacob George, Subang and Shah Alam, President of the Consumers Association for people to accept any new form of tax, the government essential make significant efforts, to education and to the consumer explain clearly o n the new tax and how it will benefit them in the long term run.It must to the confidence of the public, they pay to the government the surcharge is well managed, in line with the best interests of their. In addition, the main difficulty of the changes to do not have any preparation. According to the tax expert Dr. Arjunan, theres always a change of resistance, or even better. The main challenge is to solve the mentality of the taxpayer. They need to be educated in this new indirect tax method. In addition, the consumption tax law is one of the most supreme opinion of the law of consumption tax law. In addition, the importance of goods and services tax is overdue to it is not only related to the issue of tax reasons, but it is a comprehensive problem, it cannot be taken for granted.4.1 Why GST?In the current environment, there are two acts of its management is called sales tax in 1972 (Act 64) and Services Tax in 1975 (Act 151) of goods and services. These two taxes are handled by the Royal Malaysian Customs (Customs). gross sales tax on consumers who consume taxable goods, then collected and accountable to the Customs by commercial enterprises. Service tax is imposed on the other hand, consumers who consume food or service, such as in hotels, health center premises or engaged in professional services, such as auditing firms and the services of the second program service tax regulations in 1975 listed Two basic consumer sales and service tax is a single stage tax levied at the consumption stage. It is called a single-stage tax due to the fact that tax is only one, or at the input or output stage. Compared to the existing sales and service tax, excise duty and value added tax (VAT) is a multi-stage tax. This is due to the tax paid in the production and sale of intermediaries at every stage. In other words the consumption tax levied at every level of the production and distribution chain until the end consumer. In the pursuit of realization of goods and servic es tax in Malaysia, the government has set up a tax review panel includes representatives from the public sector and the private sector. Scope tax review panel include developing concept, legislation, processes and procedures of the consumption tax. As a reference group to review several countries, including New Zealand goods and services Tax 1985 Act so far, the United Kingdom VAT Act 1994, tax laws of the Republic of South Africa in 1991, the VAT tax, goods and services in 1991, the Canadian document, goods and services Tax sales tax luxury goods and services, Singapore 2000 Indonesia 1993 Act, the new system (Goods and Services Tax) Act 1999, Australia, Thailand, in 1992 VAT Act, VAT and Sales Tax in 1990 Pakistan. In Singapore, Pheng and Loi (1994) explained that the perfect of GST is in Singapore due to the following reasons In order to constrain reliance on direct taxesTo maintain a lower corporate tax rateIn order to reduce the dependence on personal income tax, due to the p roblem of population aging in SingaporeIn Malaysia, the introduction of goods and services tax purposes is to reduce the countrys growing budget deficit, so it is the purpose of improving tax collection and management. Veerinderjet believes that the target is a goods and services tax is panoptic range (i.e., covering extensive or a wide range of goods and services base), and effective implementation, in order to have a stable source of revenue. Overall, the introduction of goods and services in Malaysia is to achieve the following objectivesTo avoid tax cascades, multi tax and transfer pricing biasTo advance tax compliance and reduce tax avoidance and tax evasionIn order to realize the self supervision, reduce bureaucratic unnecessary and overelaborate formalities to reduce administrative beTo further reduce the operating costs of enterprises by providing tax credits for business,In order to improve the competitiveness of Malaysia and improve efficiency5.0 ConclusionToday, GST is an important issue in Malaysia, but it is believed that this will raise taxes on consumer income. Therefore, in order to ensure the smooth implementation of the commodity and service tax, all parties must be fully prepared, and give it full commitment. The public should not just rely on the government only to ensure its success, but the responsibility of the IE browser is particularly for the enterprise. Perhaps, by continuously reducing corporate taxes from 28% to 26% in 2008 has been mentioned in the 2007 budget, it will give the people a comfy room, the company to submit to the consumer tax. The most important is that the consumption tax in the early course of the implementation of any weak link, should be improved and re designed to create a win-win situation involved in all the parties. As a conclusion, GST will enable the public to strengthen Malaysias economy and improve the quality of life

Wars with American Involvement
fights with American InvolvementBrian JerozalThe United States has become a symbol of freedom around the initiation and continues to strive to help make peace. Now is this something that the United States call for to do the quick answer is no but most of their effort is to prevent legitimate mouldions taking out beforehand. There defend been a lot of altercations that without the United States helping things may have gone differently. For this argument, the United States should help out when it needs to but other countries can not only depend on the United States for help. The United States should be a policing power in the world because of such battles like the Spanish-American War, macrocosm War I, World War II, disconnectedness War, Bosnian War, and the war in Afghanistan. The Spanish-American War occurred in 1898 when Cuba was struggling for their independence from Spain. This was a interrelate for the United States since they had many invested business in Cuba as well as citizens there. Before the United States would commit to anything they would send a battleship the USS Maine to the Havana harbor. On February 15th 1898 the USS Maine and would push the United States into war with Spain. Though they wanted to remain impersonal with the conflict they were haggard in with the storm on the USS Maine. The resulting conflict soften to the Treaty of Paris which was signed on December 10th 1898 which Spain would renounce its claim everyplace Cuba, ceded Guam and Puerto Rico to the United States and transfer the sovereignty over the Philippines (Trask, 2011).In 1917 the United States would enter World War I when they were trying to remain neutral again to stay out of the conflict. This was changed however when Germany would use its submarines to attack neutral ships. The Germans violated its pledge to suspend restricted submarine warfare in the North Atlantic and the Mediterranean (Randolph, 2011). Germany would attack and kill passenger ships clai ming they were carrying supplies to Allied nations. Because of this mazed pledge and also that Germany was trying to get Mexico to join them in their cause prompted the United States to enter the war. The war would end with Germany surrendering in 1918 which would lead to the Treaty of Versailles.World War II started in 1939, while the United States would remain out of the war until 1941. The United states would remain neutral and only support the war with its resources to the consort until the attack of Peral Harbor on December 7, 1941. The United States would have to face fascist aggression and the militaristic ideology of the Axis powers. The United States would provide the fast industry and manpower that would help turn the course of the war. With the end of World War II in 1945 it would lead to the creation of the United Nations which is supposed to maintain the peace and security of the world. The Gulf War began on August 2nd, 1990 and was in response to the invasion of capi tal of Kuwait from Iraq. This war was made of mainly the United States and coalescency great powers that saw this incident as an unjust and uncalled for. When the invasion first started, fellow Arab powers called upon the United States to intervene (History.com, 2009). The coalition would raise 700,000 troops but 540,000 were United States army members and would lead the forces that would start the great air campaign and later push in with ground forces (Britannica, 2016). The war would end on February 28, 1991 and would lead to the Iraqi forces retreating Kuwait and also lead to the UN to pass Resolutions that would create a cease-fire and create a special commission to inspect Iraqs chemical and biological weapons if they had any.The Bosnia War which took place in 1992 and was the second most act of genocide since World War II with the Nazi regime. This war would kill up to 200,000 Muslim civialins and over dickens million would become refugees during the conflict. The United States would remain out of the conflict and help produce cease fire treaties which were later broke by the Bosnian Serbs. This would have led to the United States to take firm action and lead a massive bombing campaign against the Bosnia forces key military positions. Following this the United States would force the Serb leaders to talk peace and sign agreement that would end the conflict as well as have the leaders face war crimes (The History, 1999).The War in Afghanistan was driven by an attack on the United States by the Taliban that would bring a very long drawn out war. After the attack on the World Trade Center in New York City the United States would demand for the leader of the Taliban Osama Bin Laden be turned over for war crimes. It would not be until 2011 that the leader would be found and killed by American forces in Pakistan. After this the United States, would help by leaving understructure a peacekeeping military force to help rebuild the country. This would be a sl ow withdrawal of troops after 2014 until 2016. This was a long drawn out style war which from experience I spent most of my career in being deployed to this country where we help try to bring a stable government. In conclusion, there have been many wars in United States history and some could have been avoided. This is not the view though of America when they touch something is unjust and unfair they will step up and stand for what they think is right. There may be views that the United States should leave other countries alone and invade about their own country. That the United States is a kind of bully that if you dont believe in their point of view then they will attack you. This is not the plate the United States takes on the role of policing of the world not that it craves power or wants to show off its might. The United States is a super power and it needs to act like one by helping out those that need it or ask for help and will fight for the rights of all around the world. ReferencesHistory.com Staff. Causes of Animal Extinction and Disappearing Species
Causes of Animal Extinction and Disappearing SpeciesNewler argues that, animals become extinct when they die and no longer exist at that closing of the besides existing members of the species. Extinction simply means to be away forever. The process takes place over a period of succession. A species may be regarded to as functionally extinct before it is fully extinct when only a few of them exist. The existing group is for one reason or an otherwise uneffective to reproduce and propagate the species, hence termed as functionally extinct. The process begins from the time when the death rate is higher than the birthrate. The bit of animals then slowly decreases to extermination, (Newler, 102).Newler also adds that in biology extinction is the end of a given species of animals in an ecosystem. Though not documented, scientist believe that 99.9% of the species that have existed before have so far been extinct. A certain species of animals may get extinct because it cannot survive in the changing environmental conditions allowing only the species that atomic subprogram 18 well adapted to the environment to survive. This shows that there ar certain cancel factors inwardly the environment that causes extinction, (Newler, 102). correspond to Manwel, a number of animals that existed several years ago have since been extinct. These include tyrannosaurus Rex (extinct 65 one million million million years ago), Stellers sea cow the defenseless beast (extinct since 1768), Thylacine the Tasmanian tiger (extinct sine 1936), Quagga half Zebra, half Horse (extinct since 1883), Irish cervid the largest deer that ever lived (extinct about 7,700 years ago), Caspian Tiger the third largest (extinct since 1970), Aurochs a very large type of cattle (extinct since 1627), Great Auk largest of all Auks (extinct since 1844), weaken Lion one of the largest lions ever (extinct since 2,000 years ago) and Dodo the archetype of extinct species (extinct since late 17th century), (Man wel, 75)Causes of animal extinctionAlthough some cases of animal extinction is attributed to natural factors within the environment, it is however evident that human activities play a very key role in the process. Scientists have studied the human activities that causes immense environmental changes which makes the environment unfit for the existence of a particular species of animals. Since humans have become the dominant species on earth, subjoin in human activities leads to exploitation of the resources within the environment and leads to dismissions that may cause serious climatic changes which reduce the chances of survival of the animals. Some of the causes of extinction include the following.Global warmingAccording to Manwel, there is a close association between global warming and extinction of animal species on earth. Scientist argue that 251 million years ago, life on earth more or less came to an end when there was mass extinction that saw the death of over 90% of all s pecies on earth. This was caused by a volcanic eruption that caused an increase in atmospheric temperatures by 6 oC setting off a greenhouse effect that led to the mass extinction. The greenhouse effect was caused by the emission of coke dioxide from the volcanic eruption. The accumulation of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere creates greenhouse effect, (Manwel, 77).Ruckler adds that with the increase in human activity and industrial advancements lead to the emission of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere which causes greenhouse effect. As the levels of carbon dioxide increases, the evidence of its effects on the planet becomes more glaring. At present, a number of animal species be at the verge of extinction because of the serious environmental changes cause by global warming. Global warming leads to increase in atmospheric temperatures and reduces the amount of type O both in the atmosphere and the water bodies. This greatly affects the existence of animals. For example, when the amo unt of oxygen dissolved in water is cut down, anaerobic bacteria increases and the number of the other aquatic animals reduces drastically. Global warming also affects migration of animals, hatching of eggs and distribution of animal species in the planet. There is factual evidence that global warming is laced with animal extinction. In Australia for example, White Possum is believed to be extinct as a result of global warming. The animal died because it could not withstand the high temperatures, (Ruclker, 56).Overhunting and overfishingAccording to Raloff, overhunting refers to the harvesting of wild animals beyond the growth rate of the population such that the total population of the animals gradually reduces. Both overhunting and overfishing reduces that number of animal species. For example, a number of fish species are facing extinction because of overfishing. Overhunting in the high seas has reduced significantly the population of whales, sea turtles, sea cows and other fi sh species, (Raloff, 23). closely humans hunt for wild animals for their hides and meat. Human encroachment into the timbre and new habitat has seen the extinction of animal species. In North the States, 11,000 years ago, when people inaugural migrated from Serbia to Alaska, it is thought that some species of animals including the mastodon, mammoth and Saber-toothed tiger became extinct within a few centuries because of hunting and resource exploitation. The effects of global warming are evident from the extinction of a member of the primate group in Ghana and Ivory Coast. The red colobus and the red-checked monkey became extinct from the African forest because overhunting and destruction of its habitat brought about by human inhabitance.Raloff argues that in the past, the extinction of animals such as elephant birds and lemurs in Madagascar, kangaroos in Australia, Moas in New Zealand, herbivores in America are overhunting. Hunting poses major threat to animals and has lead to the increase in the number of lurked species. The nigh endangered groups of animals in the world today are the mammals and birds. For mammals the main disadvantage they have is that they are big (require more food and water) and reproduce at a slower rate hence they can be easily wiped out through overhunting. Birds are susceptible for overhunting because of their conspicuous nature. This makes the two goops the most endangered groups in the modern world, (Raloff, 23). home ground degradationManwel and Mwenda pointed out that most animals live well in given set of condition provided in a given habitat. Habitat degradation means that the conditions are altered fashioning it unsuitable for animal inhabitance which may cause the extinction of a species of animals, which directly depend on the environment for food and shelter. The environment is changing from time to time in a slow pace. Human activities cause rapid changes in the environment to the disadvantage of animals which are slo w to adapt to the fast changing environment. plus in agriculture, mining, logging and fishing are just but a few human activities that expedite the extinction process through environmental degradation, (Mwenza, 96).Habitat degradation may cause extinction of animal species either directly or indirectly. The industries and farms produce a lot of toxic products. The effects of these products include reduced reproductive capacity, short life span and reduces that ability of the animals to survive the environmental conditions. The availability of food and shelter from the environment is reduced by habitat destruction.OverpopulationManwel and mwenda express that overpopulation in animals stiffens the competition for food and shelter. When the population of animals is higher than the carrying capacity of a given ecosystem, there will be a shortage of resources which definitely leads to the death of some animals. Overpopulation leads to overexploitation of the existing resources. When th ere is overpopulation of predators, the population of the prey reduces to and becomes one of the endangered species. If the increasing population of the predators is not controlled, the prey soon becomes extinct, (Manwel and Mwenda, 29).ConclusionThe number of endangered species in animals increases with time. This means that the total population of animals on earth reduces gradually. A number of animal species are now facing extinction. The main causes of extinction can be either natural causes or human activities that affect those animals directly or indirectly. The causes include global warming, overhunting and overfishing, overpopulation and habitat degradation. The main effects of these factors is that they endanger some animals species.Work citedManwel, Paula. and Mwenda, J. Earths Endangered Creatures. 5th ed. What inspires you? :: essays research papers
What inspires you?I have two things that inspire me in my life. One of them is my parents oddly my m early(a), the other is the accident of my daddys company occurred in recent. I will talk of the town about the accident happened in March of this year. I rattling in States precisely my parents live in Korea. Only focal point we contact is using ph single, or I visit them for every passtime and winter vacation. If they outweart tell me what is going on in our family there is no way to figure out that when I am in States. When I got national for this summer vacation, my dad asked me to come home early one day and he said that there is a serious thing that he precious to talk to me. I had no clue what was going on. He said that there was a fire broken out in his factory. He owns big piece of furniture factory and he is C.E.O of this company. The biggest storage of his plant was gone because of the fire. It was about 1.8 million dollars worth, and its gone now. People said th at it was on the TV and report for 3 days as a big tragedy. I visited there and I saw people working there to build new one again. The basic problem he got was the loss of his assets and the second one was that he was proceedting too much of stress from that. I always got my personal expenses from my dad during vacation, but I just decided to work and make money. I know it is hard since I am taking 10 credits of summer courses during unit of measurement summer vacation. I strongly felt that I need to do something for my dad. So I applied one of the biggest accounting corporation in Korea, I got accepted as intern. Its been a little bit more than a month Ive been working, but the problem is that I save get 3hours sleep except the weekend. After I get home from work I eat dinner and start my homework and quizzes for my summer courses and then I can go to sleep at around 3 or 4 oclock in the morning. I get really degenerate physically and mentally but when I think about what my dad was suffering from the accident it is nothing. I started thinking in positive way that this is smashing opportunity to overcome the suffer in my life. What inspires you? essays research papers What inspires you?I have two things that inspire me in my life. Sequels and phobias in The Return of the Soldier of Rebecca West :: Rebecca West
Times of war and peace Sequels and phobias in The Return of the Soldier of Rebecca West.Rebecca West (1892-1983) was a prolific writer who tried every literary music genrejournalism, literary critique, the short story and the novel. Her first novel The Return ofthe Soldier published in 1918 spans half a century of creative output culminated in 1966with her last novel The Birds Fall Down. However, all her narrative is easily identifiablebecause of her unmistakable style, the structure of her novels, the topics she chooses andthe coherence of her ideas about mankind and society. Subsequently, all her novels arepsychological, historical and social documents depicting human behavior in a precisehistorical and social context. West synthesizes what she observes rooting her ideas inBritish literary tradition. Her penetrating critical eye is both penetrating and enlightening, forexample, when in The Return of the Soldier, Margaret gray-headed appears poorly dresseddaring to invade the Bal dry mansion with her mud covered boots, plot Jenny, thenarrator, expresses crude feelings of resentment towards Margaret and her social group. The latter is represented ... as the rich hate the poor, as insect things that will struggleout of the crannies which are their fitting home, and introduce ugliness to the light ofday (West, 1918, rpt.1984 32)1.Wests literary reputation was revived in the 1980s with the disintegration ofYugoslavia. Her Black Lamb and Grey Falcon A Journey through Yugoslavia (1941)brought her wide critical attention because this novel was the last of her efforts tounderstand the pre-war situation. Furthermore, it was central to Wests next book, The center of Treason (1947), where she concentrated on the psychological characteristicsof traitors and she wondered what caused these people to do what they didfor West, war fosters deception and betrayal. The final example of Wests interest in imposture is hernovel The Birds Fall Down (1966) which concludes with the deaths of both the traitorand the friend he betrayed and in The Return of the Soldier, a study of the sequels of warin human mind, the champ is betrayed by his family. In the aforementioned novel,West employs what at the time was an original device, amnesia from war trauma orshell shock as hearty as an unusual perspective on warthat of those who waited athome. West tries to explore the reactions of three women to a returning soldier who, though married, remembers only an early love for another woman. In spite of its obvious literary quality, The Return of the Soldier proved to be anovel severely punished by critics.

The Voyage to the New World :: History
The Voyage to the New WorldFirst of only(a), King Ferdinand of Aragon and Queen Isabella of Castille got matrimonial in 1464. The main reason that they got married was to unite their kingdoms into Spain. The king and queen were roman letters Catholic, so they gave power to certain people to win over non-Catholics to Catholicism. In 1482, the Roman Catholic monarchs renew the reconquista, the military crusade ordered to conquer the remaining Muslim state in Iberia, Granada. In 1492, the Roman Catholic monarchs ordered all non-converted Jews expelled from Spain. In April, 1492, Spain received reports that the Portuguese succeeded in reaching the Indian Ocean, therefore Spanish monarchs authorized Christopher Columbus to sail to Asia and establish trade and start to convert natives to Christianity. The reasons that the monarchs let Columbus sail were mainly to search for spices and profits, spread Christianity, and to use some of their new technology like the caravel. Columbus would receive one-tenth of all the profits, and governance of the new lands would be shared by the monarchs and by Columbus. There were mainly three different types of natives who lived in the Caribbean. There were the Ciboneys (in Cuba), Caribs (in the lesser Antilles), and Taino-Arawaks (in the Bahamas, Cuba, Jamaica, Hispanola, and Puerto Rico). The universe of the Caribbean Islands was probably not too much more than 1,500,000 of which about 1,000,000 lived mainly in Hispanola. Hispanola was the center of Taino culture. Between 1509 and 1520, the demand for native labor increased and the native population steeply decreased. Here is a table of how rapidly the population of the Tainos decreased 1492- 1,000,000 (about) 1514- 28,000 1508- 92,000 1518- 16,000 1509- 62,000 1540- 250 1510- 66,000 1570- 125 1512- 27,000 By the 1540s the native population of the Tainos did not even guide 1,000. In October 1492, Columbuss ships were bound for Japan, China, and the Indies, but they arrived in the Bahamas. In May 1493, Columbus departed for his second voyage. The new goals were to settle the land, cultivate the land, keep royal authority over the whole area, convert the natives to Christianity, and mainly to search for gold and send it back to Spain. There were 17 ships, and about 1500 men on this voyage. Between 1494 and 1495, Columbus implemented a series of regulations to control the natives and to gain lots of wealth. Each adult must have delivered a certain list of gold every three months, or else they would be punished by the Spaniards.
